The works for the maintenance of the cultural property Pashko Vasa's House are continuing by specialists. The Shkodra Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage announced that the exterior and interior spaces have been restored, consolidating the plastering of the walls to guarantee the preservation and sustainability of the building, reports ATSH.
The House of Pashko Vasa is one of the most important cultural heritage sites in Shkodra. The works are being carried out respecting old restoration techniques, with the aim of preserving the authenticity of this historical building.
The house, which has a history of over 300 years, has historical and touristic importance. It is known not only as the birthplace of Pashko Vasa, but also as the headquarters of the branch of the "Albanian League of Prizren", reports KosovaPress.
The house is surrounded by the high walls characteristic of Shkodra and in its courtyard there are still the stone well, the stone trough for washing clothes, the stone basin for rinsing clothes and the carved stone staircase. Today, this house is a Cultural Monument, First Category and has been returned as private property to the heirs since 1971.
