In the forum "Prishtina 2030: Opportunities for business growth and economic development through the Mediterranean Games", organized by the American Chamber of Commerce, the mayor of Pristina, Pëparim Rama, emphasized the potential of the Mediterranean Games to transform the city and increase social and economic values.

According to the announcement, during the forum, President Rama underlined that these games will bring new investments, increase in tourism and will strengthen the position of Pristina as a regional center for business and innovation.

He emphasized that it is vital that Prishtina develop a clear master plan for the necessary infrastructure and engage with foreign investors to realize important projects, such as the construction of hotels and sports facilities, but also transport infrastructure and other supporting infrastructure. Mayor Rama also spoke about the 23 projects presented during the two investor conferences organized by the City of Pristina this year, which also offer extraordinary opportunities for cooperation between companies from Kosovo and international ones, including those from the Diaspora.

The American Chamber presented a survey of its members, which found critical areas of intervention to be improvements in transportation, sports facilities and digital infrastructure, with several companies expressing willingness to contribute in these areas.

Half of the respondents expressed interest in projects for Smart Cities technology, while the main challenges included the lack of information and opportunities for cooperation.

Rama underlined the importance of cooperation between city authorities and the private sector to address the challenges identified by the survey. Rama also said that political blockades and the lack of financial resources remain real obstacles, but emphasized that these will be overcome through close cooperation with the private sector and institutions.

He expressed the belief that the positive energy of Pristina and the interest of investors can be converted into real development opportunities, if there is good coordination between the public and private sectors.

In conclusion, the discussion highlighted that with a clear strategy and joint commitment, Prishtina has the potential to be a leader in the region, creating a favorable environment for investment and economic development.
