Today in Albania Independence Day is celebrated, the day when Albania declared itself independent, in Vlora, on November 28, 1912, by Ismail Qemali.

Albanians today remember and honor the day when Ismail Qemali raised the flag and Albania declared independence from the Ottoman Empire.

In the framework of this day, the flag raising ceremony has started in Vlora on the occasion of the 112th anniversary of Independence.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, alongside the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, as well as the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, and Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, will attend this ceremony.

Meanwhile, the head of the municipality of Vlora, Ermal Dredha, is also participating in this ceremony. The ceremony is taking place in Flag Square in Vlora./ATSH/
