The Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama has announced that over 100 troops from the Ground Force and the Civil Emergency Support Base are being added to the squad of troops in Shkodër as part of the response to the situation created by the rain.
"Over 100 operatives from the Ground Force and the Civil Emergency Support Base, navigational vehicles and special equipment for flood situations are being added to the squad of operatives in Shkodër to increase the strength and speed of response in any problematic situation that the rains may bring during the following night, Rama wrote on Facebook.
Otherwise, the numerous flows of the rivers Drin and Kir, also destroy the old bridge of Bahçallek, at the entrance of the city of Shkodra.
The bridge was not used for years, but the damaged part of it broke off, hitting the new bridge that is functional. This has forced the authorities to block the movement of vehicles, since the bridge no longer offers guarantees.
