The autumn session of the Assembly of Kosovo has started with the old avaza. The only two sessions during this session were interrupted due to the lack of deputies, consequently the failure to approve international agreements and draft laws. This trend is expected to follow the assembly throughout the year, until the February 9 elections. A challenge for the majority is also considering the approval of draft laws that require a simple majority of 61 deputies, after the departure of two deputies from the Vetëvendosje Movement.

This parliamentarian, Gluk Konjufca, admits that the work in the legislature will be challenging in achieving the fulfillment of the legislative agenda, but he considers it necessary to reach a consensus with the opposition parties for the approval of international agreements and some of the most vital draft laws.

On the other hand, in the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) they say that due to the campaign the deputies have already started working in the field and it will be impossible to stay in the plenary sessions, but they emphasize that for laws that affect the well-being of citizens they will receive participate in the vote.

Meanwhile, the monitors of the work of the Assembly say that the people's elected representatives are unable to play their constitutional role both in the legislative aspect, as well as representative and supervisory towards the executive.

Konjufca adds that in order to be able to hold a session every week, negotiations are also needed with the opposition on which draft law can be approved, as well as for international agreements.

The deputy of AAK, Shemsedin Dreshaj, also expresses skepticism about the work of the Assembly in the autumn session.

On the other hand, Naim Jakaj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD), declares that the autumn session of the Assembly has started poorly, as the deputies are not able to fulfill their constitutional role.

He adds that the quorum has become a disease for the assembly, from which they cannot be cured.

The Assembly of Kosovo started its autumn session on September 9, until it managed to hold only two plenary sessions, which after the end of parliamentary questions and statements outside the agenda were closed due to the lack of a quorum in decision-making, such as for the approval of draft laws. as well as international agreements.
