A Kosovo Police officer lost his life today in the capital, and is suspected of committing suicide, reports KosovaPress.

The news was confirmed to KosovaPress by the spokesperson for the Pristina region Police, Agron Borovci, who announced that the incident occurred at around 14:45 p.m. on "Ahmet Korenica" street in Pristina.

"The police immediately arrived at the scene, as did emergency doctors, who determined the death of the victim, a male, 47 years old, police officer," said Borovci.

According to Borovci, the death is suspected to be the result of suicide, but investigations are still ongoing.

"Based on the initial information from the scene, despite the fact that there are elements suggesting suicide, the police, in coordination with the state prosecutor, have launched an investigation into the death and are examining all aspects of the case with increased care to fully clarify the circumstances of this tragic event," Borovci told the newspaper. KosovaPress.

The Kosovo Police expresses its condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of the deceased officer.
