The Kosovo Police and the Special Prosecutor's Office have given details about the action that took place today where the deputy secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (MMPHI), Izedin Bytyqi, was arrested.
According to the announcement, during this action, the investigators of the Sector for the Investigation of Economic Crimes by the Kosovo Police arrested a suspect, while the other suspect was not found in his residence.
"The arrested person with the initials IB is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses: "Misuse of duty or official authority" and "Weapons without a permit", while the other suspect with the initials NF is suspected of having committed the offenses: "Misuse of duty or official authority" " Money laundering" and "Non-reporting or false reporting of wealth, income, gifts, other material benefit or financial obligations", the communiqué states.
During the raid, the following evidence was seized: A MAUSER-ËERKR type revolver with two magazines with seven cartridges each, and a box with fifty-four (54) 9 mm cartridges; Thirty-four (34) different sheets of documents; Three phones, one IPhone 15 ProMax, one IPhone 12 ProMax, one IPhone 11 ProMax Seventeen USB; Three HP laptops; Four (4) computer cases as well as important documents for the investigative procedure.
It is further stated that a temporary restraining order has also been issued for 6 apartments, with locations in Pristina and Fushë Kosovë.
"By the decision of the Prosecutor from the PSRK, the suspect with the initials IB has been sent to detention for 48 hours, while investigations continue to identify any other person who may be involved in this criminal activity," the announcement reads.
