Ahead of the EU summit in Brussels, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has stated that it is not necessary to consult Serbia or NATO regarding the recent military agreement with Kosovo and Albania, indicating that the agreement is not hostile in nature.
This statement by Plenkovic comes after the reaction of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuçiq, who said that Croatia, Albania and Kosovo violated the 1996 agreement and opened an arms race, reported KosovaPress.
"Well, I hope someone will take 5 minutes to read that text. These are the usual agreements at the ministerial level, I think that given the bilateral cooperation that we have with both Albania and Kosovo, we were able to create such a document that would help their efforts in reforms and for the exchange of ideas and joint cooperation," Plenkovic said.
He stressed that Croatia has no hostile intent with this agreement.
Kosovo, Albania and Croatia signed a declaration in Tirana on March 18, through which the countries commit to strengthening cooperation in the field of defense and security, a development that has prompted reactions in Serbia.
