A collision and threat of pollution occurred in the North Sea, off the coast of Britain, between an oil tanker and a cargo ship.
The BBC reports based on information from the Coast Guard, which states that a fire broke out on board the tanker and that rescue efforts are being coordinated from the port city of Hull in England, KosovaPress reported.
The alarm was raised just before 10am local time, and 11am in Italy, as reported in a statement issued by the British Coast Guard.
"The collision between an oil tanker and a cargo ship occurred off the coast of East Yorkshire," the statement said, citing an "ongoing emergency."

The Coast Guard has announced that it has ordered special assessments to verify the impact of "potential pollution" caused by the accident, which occurred several miles from the English port of Hull.
Rescue efforts are being supported by a helicopter from Humberside and several boats sent from Skegness, Bridlington, Mapplethorpe and Cleethorpes, as well as the county town of Hull.
