The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, on the eve of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Brussels, was hosted by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, during which they discussed developments in the field of security, including the attack the last terrorist in the vital infrastructure of Kosovo.
In this meeting, President Vjosa Osmani congratulated him on his new position, hoping for the continuation of cooperation in common interest.
"President Osmani discussed the developments in the field of security, including the latest terrorist attack on the vital infrastructure of Kosovo, this attack was intended to leave a large part of the citizens of Kosovo without water, without electricity, without heating and with obstacles in the telecommunications system. She presented to President Costa the evidence of Serbia's connections with this attack, as well as with the attack of September last year, which was an act of aggression against Kosovo. She added that the chief terrorist who had carried out official Belgrade's orders for attacks on Kosovo, i.e. Radojqic, is still at large and this proves Serbia's lack of readiness for responsibility and accountability for acts of aggression against Kosovo", the communiqué states.
It is further said that President Osmani expressed Kosovo's full readiness for cooperation with international partners for the investigation of the terrorist act against the vital infrastructure in Kosovo, while thanking the EU, the USA and other NATO countries. and beyond for the solidarity shown and the help offered. She emphasized that it is very important that, in addition to the investigation, our joint work should also focus on the prevention of new attacks.
"The president stressed that in order to guarantee stability in the Western Balkans, it is more important to be unique in fighting the threats that endanger the peace and security of Kosovo and the entire region", Osmani is quoted in the communique.
She added that Kosovo is committed to fulfilling its European integration objectives, so she asked for support for the advancement of Kosovo's application for the status of a candidate country in the EU. Furthermore, the President underlined that the removal of restrictive measures would be a strong message for Kosovo to contribute to the values and common vision of the European Union, arguing again that they are unfair and that they harm the people of Kosovo, but also the principle of balance and impartiality in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
