The 24 expelled opposition MPs tried to enter today's plenary session of the Assembly, but were stopped by the Guard of the Republic.
They arrived around 8:30 in the premises of the Assembly, but the Guard did not allow them to enter the interior of the Assembly hall.
The expelled MPs clashed with the Guard and the majority MPs, who did not allow them to enter the hall. Several members of the opposition, who were not excluded, but who could not enter the plenary session of the Assembly, also suffered from this conflict.
Then the opposition MPs set fire to the four mannequins with the faces of Prime Minister Edi Rama, his brother Olsi Rama, the former Minister of the Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj and his brother Agron Xhafaj, who brought them in front of the main door of the parliament, driving them away from there the pink ribbon symbol for the fight against breast cancer.
Deputy Flamur Noka threw gasoline on the mannequins and set them on fire, just like what happened to the deputies' chairs in Monday's session.
The plenary session planned for today took place in the Parliament of Albania. The first item on the agenda was the discussion of the law, for the ratification of the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the government of the Federal Republic of Germany on technical cooperation 2022 for the project "Program for an urban development resistant to climate change in Albania"".
After the session, the head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, stated in a statement to the media that, "I believe that anyone who knows how to read Albanian, the exclusion of the deputies of the Assembly, 24 deputies with the corresponding measure is not foreseen in the circumstances known by the Regulations of the Assembly" .
So, added Bardhi, "practically the same as the imprisoned opposition MPs were imprisoned without the law, the convicted MPs were also punished without the law, because this is a regime that does not recognize the law and the Constitution, and it is showing this with its aggressiveness and war what is he doing with the opposition deputies, with the opposition as a whole and with the honest citizens of this country, who have decided to stand against the regime of Edi Rama".
The Secretariat for Procedures, Voting and Ethics in the Assembly decided yesterday the 60-day exclusion from the Assembly for the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, and the DP deputies, Flamur Noka and Bledion Nallbati.
The Secretariat decided to expel for 40 days the 20 MPs Saimir Korreshi, Lefter Gështenja, Luan Baçi, Agron Gjekmarkaj, Dhurata Çupi, Xelal Mziu, Ina Zhupa, Zheni Gjergji, Helidon Bushati, Lindita Metaliaj, Ramadan Lika, Asllan Dogjani, Qani Xhafa, Flamur Hoxha. , Isuf Çela, Kastriot Piroli, Lodovik Hasani, Kasem Mahmutaj, Edmond Spaho and Dashnor Sula.
