The Committee for Budgets, Labor and Transport in the Assembly of Kosovo is reviewing the Draft Law for the budget of 2025. The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that the budget of 3.6 billion for the next year is for the development of Kosovo.

He presented the budget in detail before the members of the commission, while he said that inflation is expected to fall in Kosovo, which according to him will enable the economic growth of Kosovo.

Murati said that the increase in pensions, the increase in allowances for children, and the increase in the coefficient units in the public sector are foreseen in the budget.

However, the member of the commission from PDK, MP Mergim Lushtaku, said the opposite.

He said that the presented budget is poorly planned and that there will be no concrete results in its implementation.

According to him, the Kurti government has deceived the citizens with their empty promises, which, as Lushtaku considered, are not foreseen in the 2025 budget.

Minister Murati responded to him, who said that the citizens know who is deceiving and who is fulfilling the promises.

According to him, the Kurti government has fulfilled all the promises given, such as the increase in salaries, pensions and allowances. Meanwhile, he accused Lushtaku that his party, PDK, when it was in government, promised something else and did other things in the executive.

However, Lushtaku said that the PDK has not been able to fulfill its promises, since since 2014 it has not had a prime minister, but has been in co-government.

The other deputy of PDK, Ferat Shala, was also involved in the debate, who asked Minister Murati about capital investments, until he said that there is a contrast in relation to the 32 percent provided for subsidies and transfers.

However, Minister Murati said that the increase in pensions has led to an increase in subsidies and transfers. According to him, ignorance of these issues shows that the promises that the PDK is making for the February 9 elections are unplanned, inaccurate and false.

Deputy Shala responded to him, who said that Minister Murati is manipulating.

Criticism of the budget for 2025 was also addressed by AAK MP, Pal Lekaj.

In the committee, the debate about the draft law on the budget for 2025 is continuing. /KosovaPress/
