Following the sensational clash between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, French President Emmanuel Macron has called for calm, respect and mutual recognition.

In an interview with "La Tribune Dimanche", Macron said that it is important for the two leaders to return to a climate of cooperation after the nervousness of the moment.

He stressed that the issue in question is extremely serious and requires joint focus to move forward, reports KosovaPress.

At the same time, the Élysée Palace announced that Macron had a long conversation last night with both leaders, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, to discuss the situation and ways to improve relations.

A dramatic clash erupted Friday during a meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, who had hoped to appeal to the US for continued security assistance during his trip to Washington.
