Today, the beginning of the works of the project "Expansion of public lighting in the city and in the villages" was inaugurated in Carralevë of Shtime, which will benefit 13 villages and some neighborhoods of the city. This project has been financed by the Ministry of Administration and Local Government and Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation after benefiting from the 2023 Performance Grant worth nearly 400 thousand euros.

On the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the spaces for the installation of lighting poles in Carralevë, the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, considered as important the fact that the projects financed in the municipality of Shtime from the performance grant are taking shape and citizens are benefiting.

He emphasized that the lighting of the city of Shtime and the villages affects the overall development of this municipality.

"It is important that already the projects financed in the municipality from the performance grant are taking shape and the citizens are benefiting. Of course, the lighting of the city of Shtime and the villages also affects the security in the community and then helps the overall development in this municipality. The performance grant is planned to support the municipalities, and the municipalities to support the citizens", said Krasniqi.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Shtime Municipality, Qemajl Aliu said that it has been decided that the entire amount of about 400 thousand euros benefited from the performance grant will be invested in the public lighting of this municipality.

Aliu emphasized that 13 villages and some parts of the city will benefit from this project, adding that around 600 lights will be installed.

He emphasized that this project is expected to be completed at the end of November this year.

"Today we are here in the village of Carralevë with Minister Elbert Krasniqi to inaugurate the beginning of a project that is financed by MLGA, Minister Krasniqi, namely the benefit of the Performance Grant that we have had as the municipality of Shtime. It is an amount close to 400 thousand euros that has benefited from the performance grant and we have decided to invest the whole grant in public lighting in the Municipality of Shtime. Some 13 villages and the city will benefit. There will be somewhere over 600 lighting units in total and this project is expected to be completed by the end of November... You know that the village of Carralevë gravitates around the main road that connects the city of Shtime and Suhareka. The citizens of this city are in danger. A while ago, we also built the sidewalk, now we are adding lighting to it," he emphasized Aliu.

The expansion of public lighting in Shtime includes the villages of Godanc i Poshtëm, Godanc i Epërm, Lagja e Pajtimit, Belinc, Carralevës, Pjetërshtića and Petrovë. Other villages benefiting from this project are Davidoc, Rashnica, Gllavica, Gjyrkoc, Reçak and Mollopolc./Mr. Zeneli
