For the first time, the candidate for deputy from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Zeqir Gjukaj, has returned to Kosovo to seek a seat in the Kosovo Assembly from the citizens. Through this position, the 83rd of the LDK is aiming to institutionalize the diaspora in Kosovo and lobby for Kosovo's integration into the international arena.

Having been in exile for many years in Switzerland, Gjukaj says that as a member of the Kosovo Assembly he would contribute to building a better Kosovo for its citizens.

The early LDK activist believes that the diaspora should also be part of Kosovo's decision-making and institutions.

"As an early immigrant and an activist of the Democratic League of Kosovo, I think that Kosovo needed a cadre like me and many others and the immigrant to become part of the institutions, part of the decision-making, but at the same time to contribute to my country so that the new generations do not have the fate that I had in the early 90s, namely migration. Let's work in that direction to stop migration and create a well-livable Kosovo... As an early activist, then as an immigrant in Switzerland, I have also created those connections of mine like all immigrants with various activists of Swiss political parties and I believed that I could be a person who knocks on Swiss institutions and represents Kosovo very well and helps Kosovo in its integration", says the 83-year-old from the LDK.

Promising that he will serve the institutionalization of the Albanian diaspora wherever they live, the candidate for deputy from the ranks of the LDK, Zeqir Gjukaj, says that through this party's program he will work to bring his compatriots closer to the country.

"I will serve the institutionalization of the diaspora, since over 40% of the people of Kosovo live in diaspora. And I believe that we have a good cadre and that cadre will lead us to bring new experiences to Kosovo. Meanwhile, as for the life of the diaspora itself, we also have needs there that we can harmonize with the new path government plan, such as the education of the children of diasporas, then the opening of cultural centers for the diaspora in the countries where they live, at the same time helping and attracting businesses or investors, whether Albanian or from different countries, so that we can create a better life for Kosovo," he emphasized.

As a strong voice of Kosovar diaspora, the 83rd member of the LDK says that through the Kosovo Assembly he will aim for the integration of the Albanian diaspora.

Meanwhile, he entered the race for MP with the aim of helping Kosovo in the field of diplomacy.

"I believe that my experience, but also all those people who surround me in the diaspora, will be a powerful voice, but also a powerful action that we will bring to Kosovo. I see myself more in working with the diaspora, in integrating the diaspora, in preserving that being so that it does not pass into assimilation and at the same time in the line of foreign diplomacy with all the channels that we have," emphasized the candidate for deputy from the ranks of the LDK.

The candidate for deputy from the Democratic League of Kosovo, who also holds leadership positions of representatives of this political entity in Switzerland, invites the youth of Kosovo to stay in Kosovo.

"My own motivation to be part of the list for MPs and my focus will be on this point and I take this opportunity to invite the citizens of Kosovo, especially the youth of Kosovo, to become the heroes of Kosovo. And today, for me, the hero of Kosovo is the one who finds himself in Kosovo, who creates a good life in Kosovo despite the difficulties that exist in Kosovo because I think that freedom itself, statehood, liberation itself, sacrifice is losing its meaning when the youth are increasingly moving to EU countries and distant countries across the ocean. Youth of Kosovo, focus on Kosovo even if you have to sacrifice something for the moment, of course for a common good", emphasized Gjukaj.

Zeqir Gjukaj is running in these elections with number 83 on the list for MPs from the Democratic League of Kosovo.

In Kosovo, the election campaign for the parliamentary elections to be held on February 11 officially began on January 9.
