Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that the Bujan Conference relied on the right of peoples to self-determination and articulated the political will of Albanians at a crucial time.
During a meeting today with historians and researchers, he discussed this important event for the modern history of Kosovo.
The meeting discussed the fate of Albanians and Kosovo during the Second World War, the various political currents and political figures of that time, but also the state, trends and perspectives of historical studies of Albanian historiography.
On December 31, 1943 and during the following two days on January 1 and 2, 1944, the Bujan Conference was held, from which the resolution signed by 49 participating delegates was issued, which read: "Kosovo and the Dukagjin Plain is the province inhabited mostly by the Albanian people, who, as always, as well as today, want to join Albania."
Kurti said that as such this historic meeting had a defining role in the political status of Kosovo and turned into a reference event in later periods until today.
