Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti traveled today (Tuesday) to Switzerland, where he will participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos.

According to the announcement of the Prime Minister's Office, the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA (European Free Trade Association) member countries will be signed in Davos.

"Kosovo is the only country in the region that, in addition to negotiating trade in goods, has also negotiated trade in services with EFTA. This agreement will create new opportunities for our local producers and companies and will strengthen the economic and trade partnership between our country and Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland as EFTA member states," the announcement says.

According to the press release, during his stay there, Prime Minister Kurti will also have meetings with state representatives of friendly and partner countries and with potential investors, as well as participate in the panel discussion titled "Sustainable Democracies in an Era of Change" and the panel "Artificial Intelligence for Humanity: Ethical Innovation in the Age of Intelligence". Both of these panels will be held at the House of Kosovo in Davos, which has opened for the first time.

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, and the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, are also participating in the Economic Forum in Davos.

This year's summit is expected to attract the participation of 3 people, including businessmen, politicians, academics and representatives of civil society organizations from more than 130 countries, including the Balkans, while 60 heads of state and government will deliver speeches, writes AA, transmits KosovaPress.

At a time when the global economy is experiencing a paradigm shift, the summit will discuss how to restore growth, how to benefit from new technologies, and ways to strengthen social and economic sustainability in 220 different sessions.

In the sessions, speakers will share their assessments of new US policies, the fragmentation that has emerged as a result of the gradual weakening of global cooperation, trade policies, artificial intelligence and digitalization, the clean energy transformation, the fight against climate change, central bank monetary policies, interest rates, and inflation.

The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos began yesterday and runs until January 24.

According to an announcement on the official website of the World Economic Forum, the 2025 annual meeting brings together global leaders to address key global and regional challenges.
