The Government of Kosovo has approved the Draft Law on the budget for 2025, which is worth 3.6 billion euros.

The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, said that next year's budget will increase by 300 million euros or 8.8 percent, compared to 2024.

In front of the government cabinet on Wednesday, he explained in detail where the budget funds will go from.

Kurti also spoke about the promises of the opposition parties for salary increases, which according to him are empty and as a counter-value to the decisions that he called government goods.

"Now that the elections are approaching, we are hearing a lot of empty opposition promises as a counter-value to good government decisions. But for one thing, we must be sure that comedy shows and responsible governance should not be confused," Kurti added.

On the other hand, the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that according to government estimates, the economic growth this year will be 4.5 percent, while for the next year he said that they expect it to be 5.6 percent.

In addition, Murati announced that the new tax rates for businesses will come into force from 2026 and not from 2025, as it is foreseen in the Law on Property Tax.
