The results of the Open Budget Survey (OBS) show that Kosovo scored a total of 50 points out of 100 in the Budget Transparency Index. In this aspect, Kosovo is ranked third among the Western Balkan states for the level of budget transparency. This is stated in the results report "Open Budget Survey 2023 for Kosovo" published by the GAP Institute. According to the report, Albania shows better performance mainly in the comprehensive content of some documents.
Rrona Zhuri from this institute has said that Kosovo has more room for improvement in the inclusion of budget drafting and execution, adding that opportunities for more comments should be offered.
She said that in this survey, Kosovo ranks third after Albania and Serbia.
In the presentation of this survey, the director of the Economic Growth office in USAID Kosovo, Alexander Albertine, emphasized the need to improve the level of budget transparency.
On the other hand, the Director of the Budget Department in the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Salvador Elmazi, has said that they will try to be as close as possible to the realization of these objectives for budget transparency.
