The World Happiness Report 2025 ranks Kosovo as the 29th happiest country in the entire globe in 2024, making it the first happiest country in the region. While the countries of the region lag far behind Kosovo according to this report.

But what are the reasons that make Kosovo the happiest country in the region, and among the happiest in the world? Citizens think that Kosovo has suffered a lot while being in captivity, and now they know the value of freedom.

Skënder Buja says that Albanians in Kosovo have suffered for centuries, and are now happier, as they enjoy freedom.

Another citizen, Osman Breznica, also emphasizes that Kosovo, having been a captive country in the past, now feels happiness by being free.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Thaçi expressed surprise at this report. He says that seeing the situation in Kosovo where domestic violence occurs, he remains surprised and does not believe this report.

Hasan Ramadani says he fully believes in this report, as the Albanian people have won their freedom with great difficulty.

Recall, in July 2012, the United Nations General Assembly announced a resolution, according to which the International Day of Happiness will be celebrated annually on March 20.

The objective of this day is to emphasize that happiness and prosperity are not just personal desires, but also global goals. This day reminds us that happiness is an essential aspect of human life and should be promoted, transmits KosovaPress.
