Around 200 participants from Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro have been invited to participate in the Conference organized by the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the ESG Promotional Platform Project, which will be held on March 20 in Pristina, reports KosovaPress.

This project, funded by the European Commission through the Western Balkans Fund, aims to advance environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles across the Western Balkans business community.

The Executive Director of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Kushtrim Ahmeti, says that these standards are increasingly important for investors and companies that want to demonstrate responsibility and sustainability in their activities.

Ahmeti emphasizes that at the March 20 conference there will be various panels where the importance of meeting ESG requirements will be discussed, writes KosovaPress.

"The conference will be held on March 20. Partners who have been part of the project are invited, because the project is supported by the European Commission through the Western Balkans Fund. Where the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the leader of this project. They will be from Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro, together with their businesses that have begun the process of fulfilling the conditions or ESG standards related to the environment, society and governance. There will be various discussion panels on the importance of fulfilling these conditions. Because in EU countries this process has already developed quite a lot. But the Balkans in general, but also Kosovo in this case, cannot escape this process, which is very important, because it is also related to the economic integration process. It is of very special importance for Kosovo itself and our companies, some of which have already started to fulfill these standards, to follow these reporting standards," says Ahmeti.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Ahmeti emphasizes that ESG Standards affect companies, investors, employees, communities and regulators.

He adds that Kosovo is facing several legal changes, which he says are expected to begin as soon as the new government is formed.

"Various investors also benefit from these standards. Communities, regulators, institutions benefit without a doubt. Kosovo is facing some legal changes that it must make. We are expecting them to start as soon as the new government is formed... In this conference, which will last almost the entire day, there will be discussions and various practices that our partners, the countries of the region, have followed in this process... The Western Balkans must cooperate more with each other, in any form. In this case, companies from different countries of the Western Balkans must also cooperate with each other in order to be in step with the demands made by the EU or the European Commission", emphasizes Ahmeti.

Among other things, the executive director of DHTIK, Kushtrim Ahmeti, indicates that about 200 participants from Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro are invited to this conference.

According to him, businesses from these countries will have opportunities for cooperation through this conference.

"We have invited around 200 participants from all countries, including our member businesses, but also businesses that will come from these three countries that have been part of this project... They will have the opportunity to see the different rules and practices that have been followed by businesses in these countries. To learn from each other to see more opportunities on how they can meet the conditions faster, to find better ways to meet them. But also to see opportunities for cooperation among themselves, because businesses must first cooperate with their neighbors and then look for cooperation. It is an extraordinary and very good opportunity for all our businesses to be part of this meeting... In terms of ESG standards, it is the first conference," says Ahmeti., write KosovaPress.

The “ESG Conference” will be held on March 20, Thursday from 09:00 to 13:00 at the “International” Hotel. Prishtina", in Pristina. /Mr. Zeneli/
