The KLA War Veterans Organization will not participate in any activities organized by the current government on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the declaration of Kosovo's independence. This was announced to KosovaPress by Xhavit Jashari, representative of the Association of Families of KLA Martyrs. However, he says that they will hold other activities to mark this holiday, but not in cooperation with the current government.
While justifying this decision, he says that the country is dealing with a government and prime minister "against the values of the Kosovo Liberation Army's war."
"We have an anti-KLA government and prime minister. Therefore, the Association of Martyrs' Families has not been carrying out activities together with the Kosovo Government for about two or three years to mark independence. Because when it is attacked and efforts are made by a one-sided special Court in cooperation with the Serbian Prosecutor's Office, we have a prime minister who attacks the values of the KLA war. We have a minister who heads such an important department, Donika Gërvalla (Schwarz), who smears and it is proven that she has deposited false evidence against the KLA war. Then, we have the leader of the Parliamentary Group, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, who collaborates with Serbian criminals to attack the veteran, attacks the KLA war and it is natural that we cannot celebrate the holidays with them," says Jashari.
He reiterates that in cooperation with the current government they will not cooperate for the February 17th celebration. While he says they have their own activities.
In a press statement after today's meeting of the KLA OVL Presidency, it is stated that this decision was made because the current Kosovo Government has never shown willingness to cooperate with the KLA OVL, excluding them from any form of funding and legal and institutional support, but only by insulting, excluding, lynching and persecuting them from any legal rights.
