Liverpool manager Arne Slott has yet to be punished after his red card, as tensions flared at the end of a fiery 2-2 draw with Everton.

The English Premier League initially issued a statement saying the Dutchman would be banned for two matches, but later deleted it after it was revealed it was an error and will soon review the referee's report.

As a result, he could be available for his team's match against Wolves this weekend if a decision is not made by then, KosovaPress reported.

Liverpool were on course to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points against their city rivals on Wednesday, but James Tarkowski equalised for 2-2 in the dying seconds of the match.

Abdoulaye Doucoure's wild celebrations in front of visiting fans sparked a furious reaction, with Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones confronting Doucoure, leading to both players being sent off.

As fans entered the pitch, police were involved in the scene before Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also sent off by referee Michael Oliver.

The affected matches are Sunday's home game against Wolves and Liverpool's trip to Aston Villa on February 19.

Doucoure and Jones will both be suspended for one match.
