Yemen's Houthi group claimed a ballistic missile attack Sunday on a "vital target" in central Israel.

Rebel spokesman Yahya Saree said his group targeted a vital target in central Israel with a hypersonic ballistic missile, saying the attack "successfully hit its target." He, however, did not give any details about the nature of the target.

Saree vowed more rocket and drone strikes until Israel's ongoing assault on Gaza is halted and the siege lifted.

Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported earlier that a missile fired from Yemen was intercepted by air defenses.

According to the same source, four Israelis were wounded as they rushed to shelters after air raid sirens sounded in central Israel.
