In the continuation of the election campaign activities, the Coalition for a Winning Kosovo held an election rally in Suhareka tonight.

The construction of a stadium, jobs for women, improvements in infrastructure, healthcare and education were among the main promises made by the candidates for MPs from this municipality. Meanwhile, the leaders of the main parties in this coalition pledged positive changes in security and the economy, while not leaving aside criticism of the current government.

The candidate for prime minister from this coalition, and also the president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, said that to fix the situation in our country, we must start with NATO membership.

In front of hundreds of supporters at the "Ukë Bytyci" Cultural House in Suhareka, Haradinaj said that over the last four years of government, Vetëvendosje has not been in order in terms of internal and external plans.

"As we know, 4 years have not been in order, neither with governance, nor with our affairs, neither in the internal nor in the external plan. How do we fix the situation once and for all? We must start from security. When you are not safe as a people and a country, things do not go easily. Security must be complete and eternal. The only way today, because we need to become capable as a state, to increase investments in defense anyway. The only way to be secure forever is NATO membership. If NATO membership goes quickly, we are very winners because we do not delay the process... So far, energy capacities have been hindered. They have not allowed us to produce, to build new power plants in Kosovo. As if we had done with coal or gas, I assure you that we would have had the cheapest energy price. Now we are buying energy everywhere and selling it to our citizens twice as expensive", said Haradinaj.

While referring to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, he stressed that the country should not be held hostage because of a man and his team who, according to him, "don't have their heads in the business."

He calls Kurti's refusal to respond to the prosecution "taken."

"We need economic development, many industrial zones, business zones like you have in Suhareka. Suhareka should be given even more land, the municipality of Suhareka, because it has proven that it knows how to put it into operation well. There was talk of a stadium. A team that plays in international leagues was taken after, not the stadium. The stadium must be built. City heating plants are necessary because they save energy... When we are saying to the government and Kurti, go, we are not talking about him personally, nor about the people around him. That is not the case, we are talking about our country. We want our country to move forward. Why continue to hold the country hostage like this for a person or team that is not focused on their work. The prime minister should not go to the prosecutor, it is about the state, about the law", stressed Haradinaj.

Under the cheers of "Steel" from the supporters present in Suhareka, the candidate for MP and the chairman of the Social Democratic Initiative, Fatmir Limaj, said that the Coalition for a Winning Kosovo creates conditions for businesses and citizens. While according to him, the government is attacking those who strengthen Kosovo.

As a major success for Suhareka, Limaj mentioned the construction of the "Rruga e Kombit" highway.

"Where our coalition governs, this vision best shows what it means to be a winning Kosovo. A winning Suhareka with deeds, this vision unfolded here best shows that when positive energies come together, the right people in the right place, they create deeds, serve the citizens. This is how Gjakova was yesterday, this is how Suhareka is today, this will be how Deçan and others will be tomorrow... Suhareka would never have become the Suhareka city it is today as it is and is, Suhareka would not have a square like it has today, it would not have taken the form it has today if 'slippers' and buses had continued to move in Suhareka and it had not been the nation's highway... We create deeds, conditions for businesses, citizens, and workers while others there anathema and attack those who strengthen Kosovo", said Limaj.

Meanwhile, the candidate for deputy from the ranks of AAK, Kymete Bajraktari, promised to the Alliance's supporters that she will be a strong voice in the Kosovo Assembly for the citizens of Suhareka.

She promised to strongly commit to creating the legal infrastructure for women to have access to the labor market.

"I promise that I will engage and be your strong voice in the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. I promise that I will engage in creating the legal infrastructure for women to have access to the labor market. To have better conditions for business, property and inheritance rights, and universal justice for all. Today we urgently need to invest in youth. Youth is the greatest potential that our country has, but unfortunately they are leaving Kosovo due to the lack of opportunities. Suhareka has talented youth with energy and ideas, but they lack the space where they can develop their talents. My promise is to create an innovation center for the youth of Suhareka," she emphasized.

Candidates for MP from AAK from Suhareka are: Mensur Selimaj, Driton Maliqaj, Samir Bytyqi, Kymete Bajraktari, Jehona Rrafshi Lumi, Albana Bytyqi, and Bali Muharremaj.

The election campaign began on January 11, with political entities holding campaign meetings with their supporters. The parliamentary elections will be held on February 9.
