The Democratic Party of Kosovo's candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, has promised wage increases, modern technology in schools and universities, laboratories and state scholarships.
At a rally held with education sector workers on Monday in Pristina, Hamza said that he will reform the evaluation and inspection system and establish a more transparent and fair system for evaluating their work.
"The salary increase for teachers, professors and all education workers will happen. Your dedication must be rewarded with a dignified salary. Already in the first year of my government, we will increase public sector salaries by 50 percent, to ensure that you work with dignity and motivation. We cannot demand results from you if most of the time you are busy with unnecessary documents and reports. We will reduce the bureaucratic burden, reform the evaluation and inspection system, and establish a more transparent and fair system in evaluating your work," said Hamza.
Hamza added that there will no longer be insecurity in the workplace.
