The Greek Foreign Ministry has reacted sharply to the recent statements of North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristian Mickoski in the US.
"The name issue of North Macedonia has been finally and irreversibly resolved," the ministry's press release said, hours after Mickoski from New Jersey spoke about the "unresolved" and "existing" Macedonian issue.
"This event constitutes a challenge for Greece, as it attempts to bring back to the forefront an issue that has been resolved, as is known, definitively and irreversibly. Greece recalls that further progress in its bilateral relations with North Macedonia and the smooth continuation of its neighbor's European path requires full respect for the Prespa Agreement and, of course, abstention from incompatible statements and claims towards neighboring countries." - concludes the statement, according to Tch, transmitted by KosovaPress.
The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristian Mickoski, in a meeting with his country's emigrants living in the US, stated that his government in the seven months it has been in power is trying hard for the country's economic development, but according to him, this is not enough since efforts are needed to win - as he said - also in Washington, New York, Brussels, Berlin, London, Paris, Rome and other capitals of the world, for the Macedonian issue to be finally resolved, because it has not been resolved. "It has been "boiling" for centuries, it has duration and continues to exist. "- he said.
