The municipalities of Podujeva, Lipjan, Vitia and Shtime are beneficiaries for the implementation of energy efficiency measures for 13 public facilities, worth about 3.8 million euros.
The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli has said that the families benefiting from the subsidy of efficient heating equipment, according to the data received from KESCO, have reduced their energy consumption by 19 percent on average the following year. Derisa added that in the same period other families in the country, households in total have increased consumption by 3.8 percent on average.
At the ceremony held by the Kosovo Fund for Energy Efficiency, Rizvanolli emphasized that the subsidized families saved a total of 27 million kilowatts per hour.
On the other hand, the managing director of the Kosovo Fund for Energy Efficiency, Driton Hetemi, said that in terms of projects in the public sector during 2023 and 2024, they have completed 86 similar projects, mainly schools, sports halls, cultural centers and other administrative facilities.
"The beneficiaries of these projects are six municipalities, of which Suhareka and Istogu have signed during the past week for four projects, while Podujeva, Lipjani, Vitia and Shtimja will sign today together with us in this ceremony, for 13 new projects. We recall that in terms of projects in the public sector during 2023 and 2024, FKEE has completed 86 similar projects, mainly schools, sports halls, cultural centers and other administrative facilities, financed by the Government of the RKS, the World Bank and the European Union. On the other hand, in the residential sector, through a grant from the European Union, FKEE has subsidized over 3 families for the implementation of energy efficiency measures in their homes," he said.
Until this agreement was well received by the mayors of the aforementioned municipalities. They say that these projects benefit the municipality and its citizens.
