The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo should be among the first countries to recognize the interim government of Syria.

PDK deputy Hoxhaj considered that currently the Middle East is going through one of the most important moments in decades, he wrote that with the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, a new opportunity opens for Kosovo to overcome Iran's opposition to its independence, in countries like Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, which according to him are emerging from the orbit of Iranian influence, thanks to the wise policy of Turkey and Israel.

"Today, the government of Kosovo still does not have a position on these developments and how to use them for the further recognition of Kosovo. Kosovo should be among the first countries to recognize the interim government of Syria, a country where Serbia was an ally of the brutal Assad regime, and turn this moment in favor of the recognition of Kosovo by Lebanon and Iraq," wrote Hoxhaj on Facebook. .

The former chief diplomat Hoxhaj also adds that Kosovo's diplomacy must come out of the self-imposed moratorium on the international recognition of Kosovo's citizenship.
