The city of Durrës was hit by heavy rainfall the day before, creating problems in several areas.
The National Civil Protection Agency in Albania announced that throughout the night and today, work continues by field forces to remove water from areas affected by intense rainfall, in part of the municipality of Durrës.
According to AKMC, the most prominent problems are with secondary roads in the area of New Durrës, Shkozet, the Court of Appeals, and partly the Beach Area.
Civil Protection announces that there is water in a significant number of homes and public spaces and that several families have been evacuated, who have been accommodated at Kavališenca.
"The area of agricultural land under water is estimated at around 40 ha. There is a slight increase in the levels of the Ishëm and Erzen rivers, but without any risk of overflowing," reports AKMC, ATSH reports.Meanwhile, the dams in Hamallaj and Porto Romano continue to operate at full capacity.
Forces from the Ministry of Environment, the Port Authority, the Drainage Board, and the municipality's public works enterprises are engaged in the field.
According to AKMC, 2 high-capacity suction pumps and 3 high-pass trucks from the Armed Forces have been deployed to support the forces on the ground.
"During the night, the capacities of the Armed Forces were reinforced with 2 small pumps from the Poshnje support battalion, which are working to remove water from the Durrës IEPV," reports AKMC.
Working groups are on the ground to identify, assess and accurately report damages.
