Deputies of the ruling party criticized those oppositionists for negligence and regular non-participation in the Parliamentary Investigative Committee for the process of subsidizing the purchase of textbooks and teaching aids for students at the level of Primary Education and Lower Secondary Education for the school year 2023/2024. According to them, the drafting of the report for this commission will be delayed due to the fault of the position.
In a press conference, the member of this commission from the Vetëvendosje movement, Armend Muja, said that they have warned the chairman Shemsedin Dreshaj for negligence in moving the process forward.
He said that the cancellation of the last meetings by Dreshaj was done in order to prevent him from interviewing the witnesses during the investigation phase, who were proposed by the position.
Deputy Muja has criticized the deputies from the position for not participating in the meetings held. He said that the deputy chairman of this commission, Adrian Kastrati, has participated only 7 times out of 18 meetings held.
Among other things, Muja emphasized that the deputies of the position have participated in 80 percent of the meetings.
Meanwhile, the member of the commission from LVV, Arjeta Fazliu, said that three inaccuracies are evident in the letter sent via email by chairman Dreshaj to the members of the commission.
While quoting Dreshaj and mentioning the reasons why the latter had decided that the investigative commission should continue its meetings from September of this year, she emphasized that those reasons do not hold.
On Tuesday, the meeting of the Investigative Commission for textbooks failed to be held due to the lack of quorum. Even on Tuesday, the opposition deputies were absent, including the chairman of the commission, deputy Shemsedin Dreshaj and the deputy chairman, deputy Ardian Kastrati. For these last two, government deputies said that they referred to the plenary session for non-fulfilment of parliamentary duties.
