The Kosovo Super League team, Feronikeli 74, has decided to withdraw from all competitions on the grounds that "the referees are determining the outcome of the matches and not the game on the field".
They have also invited the prosecution to "investigate the referees and their biased behavior".
This is the full announcement of Pheronikel 74:
Dear football fans, "Black Tigers" fans, sympathizers, players, coaches, donors and citizens of Drenas, we regret to inform you that FC Feronikeli 74 has decided not to continue the competitions in these circumstances where, in our opinion, the referees are determining the result of matches and not the game on the field.
We have been competing with dedication and dignity for a long time, promoting clean football in the Kosovo Super League. Despite the numerous obstacles and injustices from the referees, we believed in the fair play development of the sport and in the integrity of the FFK. This, perhaps, was our biggest mistake. Today, after many attempts to seek justice, we clearly affirm: "Enough is enough!"
We lost points, but we never felt like losers on the field. For us, the real loser was the main referee, who turned the matches into a gross injustice. Through this public decision, we announce the final withdrawal from all competitions of the Football Federation of Kosovo. This decision has been taken after extensive analysis and our efforts to bring justice, but unfortunately, we have been left with no other option.
If FFK considers this approach right, we can no longer be part of such a competition. We invite the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the referees and their biased behavior which has damaged the sport we all love. We sincerely apologize to our footballers, to the "Black Tigers" fans, to the donors and to all those who have stood by us over the years.
In these circumstances, the board together with the President withdraw from the club. For all of us, Feronikel 74 will always remain the club of the heart, but, in a league that does not respect the principles of justice, we will no longer compete.
