The Kosovo Dairy Industry Association has requested the Kosovo Government to intervene to stop the increase in electricity prices, emphasizing that this increase will severely damage the milk production sector.

The association's chairman, Gani Durmishi, has stated that they are already facing high costs for packaging, workers' salaries and other operating expenses. He emphasizes that, despite efforts to maintain price stability, a new increase in energy tariffs will force them to increase the price of dairy products.

"With all the sacrifices made so far to maintain social peace for consumers in Kosovo, if the price of energy increases, we will be forced to act. We hope for the understanding of our customers," the association's response states.

According to a statement, the dairy industry in Kosovo has been among the sectors most affected by the increase in production costs and requires institutions to prevent the further impact of rising energy prices on the supply chain of basic food products.
