European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, will visit Albania from March 12 to 14, marking her first official mission to the country.
This visit will serve as an opportunity to discuss with the Albanian authorities the state of the EU accession process, particularly progress in fundamental reforms and in justice, writes ATSH.
The visit will also be an opportunity to convey the importance of consolidating achievements through further tangible results, in line with the merit-based nature of the process, he added. KosovaPress.
Among others, the Commissioner will meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Chief Negotiator for EU Integration, Majlinda Dhuka, and the Speaker of Parliament, Elisa Spiropali.
According to the official agenda published on the European Commission website, on March 13 at 10:10, Commissioner Kos will give a joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama.During her visit to Albania, Commissioner Kos will also engage with Albanian independent justice institutions, MPs, including representatives from the opposition, as well as civil society organisations.
As part of her mission, Commissioner Kos will visit three EU-funded projects in Elbasan, where she will engage with social enterprises supported by assets confiscated from organised crime, engage with women victims of gender-based violence and exchange with young students participating in the Western Balkans School Exchange Programme, which supports reconciliation and intercultural learning and dialogue.
