Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik declared today that if he is convicted by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for non-implementation of the High Representative's decisions, Republika Srpska will stop the work of the state court and prosecutor's office, and state security agencies on the territory of this entity and will "return to the Dayton Peace Agreement".
Responding to the question of whether he expects unrest, Dodik said on Pink television that Republika Srpska will remain calm.
"We will make all decisions at the level of the RS parliament and it is possible that at some stage we will hold a referendum on all of this," Dodik noted.
"This is not Milorad Dodik's war, but a reaction to the action taken by political Sarajevo," he said.
Dodik said that if he is convicted, "Republika Srpska will cancel any presence of the court and prosecution, the BiH Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and other bodies at the BiH level, will stop their work on the territory of Republika Srpska, will adopt its own electoral law and will do everything to return the 83 competencies to their constitutional position."He said that "the only correct constitutional and legal scenario" is the suspension of the proceedings at the Court of BiH against him or the declaration of innocence, otherwise the Republika Srpska "will make decisions in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement", which also means that the Republika Srpska will cancel or withdraw from all reforms.
Dodik said that Republika Srpska "defends the Constitution of BiH" and announced that "all violations that have occurred for 25 years will be reviewed."
