The European Union has not announced whether the meeting set for December 17, at the level of chief negotiators, will take place after the terrorist attack on the Ibër Lepenci channel. Even the Government of Kosovo did not give any answer to KosovaPress, if they will condition the participation in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue meeting, after the recent developments in the north of the country. The executive was also silent regarding the possibility of a trilateral meeting and the agenda of the discussion between the Kosovar chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, and his Serbian counterpart, Petar Petkovic.
Meanwhile, deputies of the Vetëvendosje Movement do not expect progress in the dialogue, as long as, as they say, Serbia's destructive approach continues. Skeptics of progress in the dialogue are also from the opposition and familiar with this process.
Kosovo institutions have accused Serbia of being behind the latest terrorist attack in the north, where Kosovo's critical infrastructure was compromised, while Serbia has denied the accusations.
The MP of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Driton Hyseni, says that there can be no progress in the dialogue with the one-sided approach of the mediator, Miroslav Lajčak, as well as with the destructiveness of Serbia.
Meanwhile, the opposition criticizes the Government for lack of transparency in the dialogue process with Serbia. The chairwoman of the Parliamentary European Integration Commission from the ranks of the LDK, Rrezarta Krasniqi, says that with the current Government there can be no progress in this process.
Meanwhile, the expert on European integration, Avni Mazrrezku, thinks that the meeting on December 17 is only the fulfillment of the agenda of the emissary, Lajcak.
The last meeting between Kosovo and Serbia at the level of leaders was held on October 24 in Brussels, but no concrete result was achieved towards the implementation of the Brussels agreement and the Ohrid annex, agreed by the parties in 2023.
