From today, the connection of the citizen with the address has started. The purpose of this project is the correct identification of addresses for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

In the meeting organized by the Cadastral Agency of Kosovo and the Civil Registration Agency with mayors of municipalities, with the topic "Connection of the citizen with an official address", it was emphasized that the implementation of this project is important for the state, the functioning of the institutions, and especially for various services for citizens.

The Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn, was also present at this meeting Aliu, who expressed his satisfaction with reaching this stage of this project, adding that it is continuously being updated and only recently 70 new addresses have been added.

He also said that there are many kilometers of roads added to new codes.

"I am pleased that we have reached this stage for a project that is quite important for the state, the functioning of institutions, and especially for the various services for citizens, either at the local or central level, which is the interconnection of the address system with citizens. This project is important not only for security, but for almost all services for the citizens and it is a project that requires a great commitment from everyone that can be carried out properly. The Cadastral Agency, together with the municipalities, have achieved that almost all the streets in the country put the names, codes and numbers in the addresses of the citizens. even many kilometers of roads added to new codes... Without a clear background for each citizen where he has his house and where he moves, we cannot even know the internal migration of citizens in the country", he said.

Meanwhile, the director of the Civil Registration Agency, Blerim Camaj, said that all the tasks they have according to the agreement, they will do in time, while he promised that they will have good cooperation with the relevant agencies and municipalities in this regard.

"Population and updating of data by law and by-laws is the responsibility of the civil status officials who are in the municipalities, where in this case they will receive the correct official addresses from the Cadastral Agency and the updating of a civil status system will be done namely in the central registry. This is for the first time, we are dealing with the official addresses that we receive from the Cadastral Agency and not in public companies. Therefore, we, as the Civil Registration Agency, have all the tasks we have according to the agreement, monitoring, training and informing public opinion with the address system, we will do it in time and we guarantee you, we will have good cooperation with the relevant agencies as well as with the municipalities", he said.

The expert on the issue of addresses at the Cadastral Agency of Kosovo, Ahmet Sogujeva, while presenting the results achieved so far regarding the creation of the address system in Kosovo, said that the connection of the citizen with the address is one of the culminating projects of this activity. until he added that in the future we will also develop an application for internal services of Kosovo, for various companies and municipalities with official data of addresses with an application or navigation that can serve in terms of addresses, finding the desired location .

"Until now in Kosovo we have identified about 22 thousand roads, of which 99 percent of these roads are named, except for one of the municipalities that has not yet approved these roads in the Municipal Assembly, and there are about 540 thousand points of addresses, or address numbers in our official address system... One of the activities is the measurement of roads in the field for new roads that did not exist in our system, we have made a project and realized it in cooperation with the municipalities. Completion of street names and address numbers with adequate signs, that is, we are in the realization phase of this project. The connection of the citizen with the address is one of the culminating projects of this activity, and we will also develop an application for services. of internal Kosovo, for various companies and municipalities with official address data with an application or navigation that can serve in terms of addresses, finding the desired location... The planning for signaling addresses is that in the municipalities which The Cadastral Agency has not provided support, it has already provided support and about 1 road name plates are planned to be placed in four municipalities and it is also planned to place about 530 number and address plates in up to 380 municipalities. which do not have number plates," he said.

The Chief of Cabinet of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Jeta Delaj, has said that this project is of particular importance for increasing public security.

"Declaration of official addresses is vital, essential for state institutions, for all municipalities, as well as of particular importance for security and justice institutions, thus guaranteeing that information about citizens' addresses is correctly registered in state systems. For the Ministry of Internal Affairs - in is of particular importance for the increase of public security, but also for the faster provision of emergency services in the later phase, we will start with the organization of training for all civil status officials who will be at the service of the implementation of this initiative", she said.

The process of connecting the citizen with an official and unique address is carried out in two ways: by declaring the official address on the E-Kosova platform. In which case, citizens will first be provided with the "Address Identification Form", through which the official address will then be updated in the Civil Status System, and by declaring the official address in the municipal civil status offices.

Official address data (municipality, street, address number, etc.) will be collected by the Kosovo Cadastral Agency, while citizen data will be collected by the Civil Registration Agency.

Meanwhile, the benefits of the citizens with the use of the official address are that after the completion of this process, in the civil status system, they will have the official and unique address, through which there will be many benefits, such as a unique address in all municipal services (water, electricity, garbage bills, etc.), planning of adequate health services as close as possible to citizens, proper planning of nurseries and other municipal services, acceptance of various documents such as identity card, passport, address, etc.
