The UK will host the Berlin Process Summit in the autumn with the Western Balkan countries – Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

The announcement from the British Embassy in Pristina states that official London is committed to strengthening partnerships in the Western Balkans, strengthening European security and addressing the common problem of irregular migration.

Dame Karen Pierce, one of Britain's most experienced diplomats, has been appointed as the UK's special envoy to the Western Balkans, tasked with advancing London's strategic objectives across the region, including preparations for the Summit.
