Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has reacted to the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) that the 20 laws approved last Thursday in the session of the Assembly will be sent to the Constitutional Court. Bislimi emphasizes that with this action of the PDK "it is clearly proven that not only is this their tool to try to stop the advance and development of the state, but also that they feel threatened by a state that develops and makes progress" .

According to Bislim, among the 20 laws approved on December 5, there are also three key laws for the financial development of the country, which pave the way for the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Single European Payments Area (SEPA).

"It is about the law on banks, the law on payment services and the law on the prevention of money laundering and the fight against terrorism. The laws are intended to bring more financial transparency to the country, alignment with the European Union market, as well as tangible benefits for citizens," Bislimi wrote on Facebook.

According to him, membership in SEPA will bring a reduction in the cost of cross-border payments up to 55 million euros per year.

"They are a great relief for families who receive money from relatives abroad and for businesses that operate with international partners. So the PDK is aiming to harm the citizens and businesses at the cost of at least 55 million euros directly per year", he writes.

Bislimi said that part of the last session, which PDK intends to send to the Constitutional Court, is also the State Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustifiable Assets, which PDK is already sending to the Constitutional Court for the second time.

"What has to do with financial transparency, it hinders the PDK. What has to do with cost reduction for businesses and citizens hinders the PDK. What has to do with the advancement of the state, hinders the PDK", writes Bislimi.

In the last session, the Assembly of Kosovo approved the Law on banks, the Law on payment services and the Law on the prevention of money laundering and the fight against terrorism. Bilslimi reacted by saying that the Assembly of Kosovo has opened the way for the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Single European Payments Area (SEPA).

According to Bislim, these laws are an important step towards integration into the EU single market and improving financial transparency in the country.
