Arsenal have lodged an appeal to have Myles Lewis-Skelly's controversial red card overturned. The defender was sent off during his side's 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.

Lewis-Skelly was sent off for grabbing Wolves' Matt Doherty on the ankle with a late tackle to break up a counterattack just outside the Wolves area in the 43rd minute.

Referee Michael Oliver's decision was upheld by video assistant referee (VAR) Darren England, reports KosovaPress.

Lewis-Skelly will miss Arsenal's next three games - a Premier League home game against Manchester City on Sunday, next week's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at Newcastle and a league game against Leicester on February 15.
