The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment against an Albanian with the initials MI, due to well-founded suspicion that he has committed the criminal offense: "War crime against the civilian population".
Investigations have established that the defendant, during the period 1998-1999 in the village of Osek Hylë in the Municipality of Gjakova, acting in collusion with members of the Serbian police forces, committed murders, rapes, arrests and mistreatment of the Albanian civilian population who were not involved in the war, reports KosovaPress.
"The Prosecution has proposed holding the trial in absentia, in accordance with the provisions of the KPCK, because the defendant is at large. The Special Prosecution remains committed to prosecuting and bringing to justice all persons responsible for war crimes in Kosovo," the prosecution said in a statement.
