A citizen of Serbia ended up in handcuffs on Thursday after allegedly falsely presenting himself as an official of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency. He is suspected of having planned the murder of a Kosovar woman. Such cases, according to security experts, are done to damage the image of the KIA and the state of Kosovo.

The expert on security issues, Avni Islami, tells KosovaPress that there are cases when unauthorized persons have appeared on behalf of KIA, trying to damage and denigrate the image of this institution.

"It should be noted that this is not the first case. So, we have had previous cases where unauthorized persons appeared on behalf of KIA who tried to damage the image of KIA and Kosovo in general. This last case is true that this case is an attempt to denigrate the KIA institution and I wish that this case is isolated and not coordinated", says Islami.

Islam says that in addition to the intention to damage the image, such persons present themselves falsely to gain materially.

According to reports, the suspect with the initials RB, about 53 years old, a citizen of Serbia, was arrested on Thursday in Fushë Kosovë.

He is suspected of having planned the murder of a woman-citizen of Kosovo - with the claim that she is allegedly working against the interests of the country.

Regarding this case, the Kosovo authorities started an investigation in April of this year.
