The Central Election Commission, since February 9, the day the parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo, has continued to be criticized for mismanagement of the process, lack of transparency, and delays.
The CEC website failed on election day, and this raised suspicions among citizens, as some votes were counted but not processed on the website. The ballot boxes for those votes were transferred to the counting center in Pristina. Meanwhile, the CEC website continued to fail to open, or even update its data.
The counting in the municipal centers took several days to begin, while the counting process itself was slow. The counting of diaspora votes is currently being completed, and then the counting of conditional votes and votes of persons with disabilities will begin. The CEC has justified the deadlines by taking an example from previous elections, however, organizations that monitor the process say that this process should advance and not be compared with previous years.
KosovaPress, Through a survey published on March 1st, citizens were also asked whether they were satisfied with the work of the CEC in these elections. 94 percent of respondents voted "no", 5 percent are satisfied with the work of the CEC and 1 percent do not know.
Arben Islami wrote that the CEC is a total failure, as the Germans held the elections and counted the votes in just 6 hours.
Besnik Shabani wrote that with 700 thousand votes they have become the world's gas.
