The deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo on November 2, 2015, with a majority of votes, ratified the SAA agreement, in which session the opposition political parties did not participate in the vote.
The deputies with 86 votes in favor approved the law that enables the implementation of the Stabilization-Association Agreement between Kosovo and the European Union. For the ratification of the SAA, two thirds of the 120 deputies are needed.
The ratification of the SAA took place in a solemn session, where the president Atifete Jahjaga and a large number of ambassadors in Pristina from the most industrialized countries were also present.
The three former opposition political parties Lévizja Vetëvendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Nisma, participated only at the beginning of the session, until they read their speeches against the government and, as they said, "the flaws of the SAA agreement".
The opposition then left the Assembly hall, not participating in the vote.
Kosovo in the SAA is presented as a footnote, not as the Republic of Kosovo. The opposition insists on this point, saying that Kosovo is not treated as a state by the EU.
