Nine Palestinian prisoners have been released from Israeli jails and arrived in the Gaza Strip as part of a prisoner exchange deal included in the recent Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Anadolu's correspondent reported that the prisoners entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, located east of the city of Rafah in the southern part of the enclave, assisted by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The prisoners were then transferred to the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Younis for medical checkups.
