The deputy from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Besian Mustafa has accused the current government of improper management of the situation in the energy sector, at a time when various parts of Kosovo have remained in the ground during the winter.
Mustafa says that the Kurti Government has failed to raise the capacities for the production of electricity by not having any investment for the production of energy.
He reminded that the Government has made enormous expenses for the import of energy over 700 million euros during the last four years, which has created benefits only for energy traders and not for the citizens and the country's economy.
Mustafa says that as a result of all the improper management, we have the current situation with power outages, which reach up to 14 hours a day.
Mustafa also criticized the decision of the Kurti Government for the subsidy of 50 million euros for electrical equipment for heating, stressing that this action has contributed to the overload of the energy system during the winter period. The Ministry of Economy has announced that the distribution and transmission network has reached the maximum capacity of over 1400 MW during the day and evening, which endangers the stability of the system and the supply of some areas. The Ministry has called for saving electricity. Meanwhile, KOSTT announced that there is no shortage of electricity, but the electrical network is facing a heavy load, which has "reached the maximum limits".
