Harvard University is known as one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and today, this university marks the 388th anniversary of its founding.

Founded nearly four centuries ago in Cambridge, Harvard is the first American institution of higher education, founded by the Protestant theologian John Harvard.

Since the founder was a theologian, at the beginning the purpose of this institution was the education and training of clergy. At first, this educational institution was called College, but in 1639 it was named Harvard, in honor of its founder, who donated part of his property and his rich library to this university.

And in 1879, the college for girls was also founded, which was also called "Harvard's Appeal".

Fan Noli and Kostandin Tashko are considered to be among the first Albanians who studied at Harvard.
