In Mitrovica today, the massacre that took place in the market of this city 26 years ago is commemorated, where there were victims and hundreds of injured.

At that time, Serbian forces attacked with mortars while the market was full of people, resulting in the deaths of six citizens, including children and women, and the injury of 128 others, reports​ KosovoPress.

Representatives of municipal institutions and other associations in Mitrovica, family members of victims and martyrs, as well as other citizens, gather every year at the scene in honor of the victims of the market massacre in Mitrovica, which happened 22 years ago.

The health and psychological consequences of this attack by the Serbian army and police are still being suffered by many of those who were in the market that day.
