At least 18 people were injured when a Delta Airlines plane crashed and flipped upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on Monday.

"A total of 18 injured passengers were transported to hospitals," the airport said in a statement, adding that the airport remains open.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and is being led by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, he added.

Canada's Transport Minister Anita Anand said in a post on X that all 80 passengers on board have been accounted for.

"I am closely following the serious incident at Pearson Airport involving Delta Airlines flight 4819 from Minneapolis," she added, AA writes.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said in the X that "there are no casualties," adding that "provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any assistance that is needed."
