The Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani, reacted after the serious incident in the north of Kosovo where police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed, while another policeman Alban Rashiti was injured.
"We strongly condemn the armed attack against the Police and the state of Kosovo. Our condolences to the family of the Police officer who lost his life in the line of duty and speedy recovery to the injured officer", Hasani wrote on social networks.
He said that Albania is on Kosovo's side, while the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
"Today's criminal act is a threat to the security and stability of our region and the perpetrators must face justice as soon as possible. Albania is by Kosovo's side in these difficult moments that require composure, in close cooperation with allies and partners", continued Hasani.
In the early hours of the morning today (Sunday), the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed, while Alban Rashiti was injured. The serious incident took place in the village of Banjska in Zveçan where the police patrol was attacked.
